Don’t fall in love with a traveler.
Because, yes, they can walk for days on end in the pursue of someplace beautiful.
They don’t mind sleeping on hard floors as long as the next morning something exciting happens.
They will happily endure hours and hours of discomfort if the destination is worth the wait.
They can sacrifice sleep, ease, money, time… pretty much everything for that promised once-in-a-lifetime experience.
They know that climbing the steepest hill brings along the most breathtaking views, that overcoming their fears will make for the best moments in the trip, that trusting strangers results in the most wonderful stories.
But, oh, if they don’t like what they see… If what you have to offer is not enough for them…
They won’t hesitate to pack up their bags and leave. They won’t even look back. They will book the next flight or just hitchhike to get away from you and disappear just as fast as they came.
They know something better awaits. They know because they’ve seen it all. And if they haven’t yet, they know they can… and will.
And they’ll miss you, of course… but that’s alright with them.
They are used to missing, it’s their way of existing.
They can miss you forever and never, ever come back.

I was feeling this post until you said “They won’t hesitate to pack up their bags and leave.” That hit me like dang man that is messed up.
Why is it messed up? If someone does not give me what I need, if a relationship is not good for me… why should I stay?
This is a very fun post. Obviously, not all travellers are the same. There is a huge variety 🙂 as I travel blogger I know exactly what I’m talking about 😉
These are just some poetic licenses, of course. Overgeneralizing never tells the whole story.
Haha! I get what you are saying. My boyfriend and I work full time and unfortunately we both can’t manage to travel unless on our days off or when we go on leave. But we always plan our trips together, neither him nor me can go on a trip without the other.
Oh, I have no trouble at all with solo travel. But traveling with a significant other is always nice.
I wouldn’t mind dating a traveler. I had many travelers in my life and all of them are amazing dates!
Better to date a traveler than a couch potato.
Hahaha, this is a bit of a sarcastic piece, I totally agree with you.
Totally in love with this!! I would totally disagree though. I think you should fall for a traveller! Sounds like such a great time!
Hahaha, yes, I was being kind of sarcastic. We rock!
I’d take my chance to be honest – I like a challenge! Haha. I love to travel too, but I’m quite laid back and if something isn’t really what I was expecting, I’ll try to find the good in it anyway 🙂
Louise x
Finding the good is always nice, but we cannot get stuck in a place (or person) just waiting for the good to magically appear 🙂
I wouldn’t mind, to be honest, honest to have a traveler haha. We can get along just fine.
Hahaha, yeah, we have great qualities too.
I suppose if you are also a traveller then it will work 🙂
It just depends on how they treat you 🙂
Falling in love with a traveler sounds lovely, but that would mean they’d either always be on the go or I’d have to go with them. Living the traveler life seems like you’re up for the experience and the adventure. I’d love to become a traveler one day, but I don’t know about sleeping on floors. I just know my back would go through it. Lol
Hahaha, yes, beds are always better!
I also love traveling with my loved ones. I don’t mind taking a whole day walking as long as there is a beautiful view lol.
Exactly!
Love this! I guess I should have given my husband this warning. I can totally relate with happily enduring hours and hours od discomfort for a worthy destination.
Yes! But the destination HAS to be worthy.
